Ray Nayler is in the house - or possibly on the ocean floor with us - at 12pm SLT.

His debut novel “The Mountain and the Sea” is an incredibly vivid journey into many minds: scientists, AIs, corporatists and their migrant slaves, all trying to carve out their little place on this planet of ours, some to extract and profit, some to nourish and grow and some just to stay alive until the next meal comes along. Or freedom from tyranny for that matter.

Really incredibly timely and thought-provoking.

I hope folks get a chance to read it before the show but I am quite sure they will pick it up afterwards.

See you under water on the archipelago. No, I don’t mean Côn Đảo (where most of the action in the book takes place) ! I mean our virtual island, no raincoat needed, 3 or 4, final decision pending … we don’t want to disturb the fish!
